It is T minus 1 hour and 35 minutes until my work Christmas party, and I am bloomin’ thrilled to be having some food and some booze with my lil work family.
However, what I’m not thrilled about is that I’m having to get dolled up (a ritual which is usually sacred to me) at my desk. I will have none of my mountains of supplies and doing it in a handheld mirror is going to be emotional. And in all honesty, I don’t want to cut too much into the drinking and eating time. So I’ve decided to share my fool proof festive makeup when you’re in a hurry.
You know the drill, we start off with a flawless base (which I’ve had on since 7:30 this morning, I’m an eager beaver for a cheeky cocktail). And then the look is going to consist of, a soft eye with a winged liner (duh, what else can I do?) and a holly jolly bright red lip.
Soft, winged liner eye
The first step with the eyes I took the Charlotte Tilbury Uptown Girl Palette and take the golden simmer shade and pop that all over the lid and under the brow bone. And as this is a soft look, I then took the champagne chunky shimmery shade and blend that over the lid. Concentrating on the crease especially. As it is so soft, you can make a mess and no one can tell.
Next up is liner time AKA my favourite time. As always, I used my Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. The makeup star of 2017! I start off with the tail and take this out as far as I dare before joining it to the rest of the eye. Then connect it over the lash line et viola, a beautiful wing.
To make the look more dramatic, I’ve been using and loving the Primark SOSU lashes. They’re £5 and are one of the best pairs I’ve used, they’re so fluttery and lightweight. And the London pair in particular have a special place in my heart. So once they’re on, brush a bit of mascara on to bind your lashes to your fake ones.
I lined my lips with the NYX Suede Lip Liner in the shade London (bit of a London theme going on). Over-lined, obvs, having not been blessed in the luscious lips department. And then the most iconic red lipstick out there? MAC’s Ruby Woo over the top!
What’s your go to festive look?
