I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for November to be done now. I’ve started my Christmas shopping, I’ve watched my first Christmas film and yes, I have listened to Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’. And I would like to do so, without judgement now please. So when the lovely Pete from Wonderland Makeup contacted me asking if I would like to try some of their newly launched makeup, of course my answer was yes. Their makeup and nail polishes are so festive I can hardly deal with it. So let’s get into the goodies!
Studio Finish Primer, £15
I’ve heard whispers around the blogosphere recently about how good this primer is, and I can officially confirm the rumours are true. It’s fudging brilliant. In all honesty I was sceptical, as we all know I have an ongoing love affair with the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. And yet, here we are with me having reached for the Wonderland Primer everyday I’ve had it. It does actually remind me a lot of my beloved Smashbox primer. The consistency is thick and silky, it fills in any pores and creates the perfect canvas for makeup. I’m a huge fan, and at a big discount compared to the Smashbox I’d definitely give it a try if you’re thinking of investing!
Lipstick in Ruby, £7.50
I’ll let you in on a secret. Red lipstick intimidates me. I love the way it looks but it seems to be the only colour that looks weird on me. It makes my lips look thin and my teeth yellow, which isn’t the cutest of looks. However, this is classic red with a twist. It has a hint of pink, which warms the whole colour up and thus keeps my lips at a normal thickness and teeth pearly white. Praise the lord. The formula is so buttery and hydrating, it just glides onto the lips and I’m lusting after a few of the other shades now. Nude and Vivid best get ready to come home with me! Not to mention the tres cute packaging, I love the simple and classic style. Be ready to see this guy in a flatlay or two in the future!
Nail polish in Poppie, £6
If this nail polish isn’t Christmas cheer in a bottle, I don’t know what is. It is the most festive red shade, and will be worn absolutely to death over the coming weeks. The formulation is everything you want in a nail polish, it isn’t sticky and clumpy, the colour pay off is wonderful even with just one coat. And if you’re going to slap some topcoat over the top of the colour, chips aren’t going to be on your radar for a while!
