Enter a cliché about ‘how is it the end of the year?’ blah blah. But really, how did Christmas shopping come back around so quickly. Can I also just point out that I’ve been super organized and already purchased and wrapped all of my presents. I know, I’m that guy. Although I worked out how much I’ve spent all together and it was a hideous mistake. Tell you what’s the furthest thing from hideous? The design of Birchbox December 2017, Holy hell it is stunning! It’s in collaboration with Matthew Williamson and is it not the most perfect print? Imagine it smothered over something delicious like a notebook, or something very middle class like thank you cards. And on that perfect image, let’s get into this month’s goodies!
Spectrum, B04 Angled Blender Brush
My second, and gratefully received Spectrum brush. I received the contour brush in a previous Birchbox and I have absolutely used it to death already. So I am pretty excited to see how my eyeshadow blending game will improve. It’s the perfect shape to get right in the crease, and it’s mega soft. Without sounding creepy, I’ve just been tickling my face with it whilst writing this lil description. There’s a picture for ya.
Baija Paris, Caramelised Honey Body Scrub
My nose has died and gone to sugary heaven. It smells absolutely incredible, so the fact that I can actually smell this scrumptious excites me no end. The scrub is made of natural ingredients and thus, the sugar within really buffs away at the skin. So as well as smelling like pure joy, your skin will be glowing and supple. Genuinely, if there wasn’t a chance I would have to have my stomach pumped I would nose dive into the pot. It’s that real.
Pixi, Shea Butter Lip Balm in ‘Natural Rose’
I have been using and loving a little assortment of Pixi skincare, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the beauty side of the brand compares. I have about 4 lip balms in my handbag, and I’m pretty sure this is going to be joining the gang. I adore the fact it has a little splash of pigment in there, as well as being hydrating on the lips. And is the perfect ‘do I have makeup on, do I not?’ shade.
Kebelo, Clarifying Shampoo
The word ‘clarifying’ used before shampoo peaks my interest. As a notorious dry shampoo fiend, if there’s a chance I can get it out of my hair, sign me up. The shampoo is designed to be used once or twice a month to essentially press the reset button on your scalp. It claims to strip away build up, detoxifying the roots and ends and give it a damn good clean. I’m going to put this to the test and report my findings.
Balance Me, Wonder Eye Cream
I’ve had eye roll-ons in the past, and I’ve had a tragic incident where I gave the smallest of squeezes on the tube and the ball flew out as did all the product over my front. It was so sad. So I’m loving the fact this is an actual cream. The Balance Me brand boasts that 99% of ingredients are natural, so there’s lemon, cucumber and witch hazel in there to name a few. So it smoothes out tired skin, and brightens it up, and it can’t be bad for wrinkles. Something which apparently I need to start thinking about. Not on your Nelly sir!
