Deer Halloween Makeup | Cute Makeup

24th October 2017

I am one of the least organised people you’ll ever meet. I need the pressure of a looming deadline in order to get my butt in gear. And preparing for events such as Halloween is no exception. The amount of times it’s got to a few days before and it dawns on me ‘oh s**t I still don’t have my outfit sorted’, only to find the shelves have been picked clean. Fear not my lovelies, if in doubt it’s Bambi time. The beauty of this look is it really only does take 10 minutes, and you’ll more than likely already own most of the stuff! So let’s get into the deer Halloween makeup look!

Bambi Step By Step

Do your base makeup and eyebrows as you normally would (if you need some inspiration, I have my full glam base tutorial HERE).

Eyes

Next up you’re going to your contour kit, I used the NYX Pro Palette Contour & Highlight and took the darkest colour and blended that into my crease. To give the illusion of a deeper and bigger set eye, like a deer funnily enough. Now that’s done, pop some white eyeliner in your water liner, again just to brighten and make the eyes appear larger. And then to frame the eyes, black eyeliner pencil under the waterline and across the lash line. Once you get to your tear duct, draw almost around it, to highlight the shape of a deer eye. Then of course, slap on some mascara and the eyes are done.

Nose

Next up we’re going to do the nose. Using the same brush I’ve used for my eyes and with the same contour colour, I slim down my nose. To contour your nose it’s best to place the contour on top of your nose, rather than the sides. Slimming it down and accentuating the bits you want accentuating. Now that’s done, find the very top of your nostrils and with a black liquid eyeliner (I used the L’Oreal Perfect Slim Liquid Eyeliner) and put a dot at the top of each. Once you’ve done this, it’s time to connect the two. Going over your nose, draw a line connecting the two dots. Then go back to the nostrils and draw around the curve of each, until you’re about half way and glide the eyeliner inwards to create a seamless look. After that it’s colouring in time!

Lips

Now your nose is done, you’re going to make a line from your nose to your lip. It’s so easy as you can just follow the natural shape of your philtrum, which is the groove from your nose to the top of your lip. And yes, I did have to Google what it was called. From here you’re going to colour your top lip in with your lip liner/ or a black lipstick if you have one. I used Maybelline Colour Stay in the shade 888 ‘Pitch Black’.

Spots

Now, in the same way you would usually do your contour but it’s to the next level. The subtle ashy tones we all love, they’re going out the window. The darkest shades you have is going in its place. This creates a fabulous base for your Bambi spots. Once you have your base, get the lightest concealer you have – preferably an under eye concealer. Y’all know I 1000% used my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer! And with a concealer brush your going to create circles about the size of a 5 pence piece. And it really is as simple as that!

What to wear?

Just like the kitty look I would go with an all black outfit, so that the focus point is your makeup. I’d sway towards an off the shoulder number as well, so it draws more attention to your face and thus, your makeup. As for horns, unless you can find a ready made headband, I would have my hair in space buns to really make the makeup the star of the show. And of course, if you fancy adding some gore, fake blood is the way to go!
