The fact that 2018 starts on a Monday is so disgustingly satisfying to me it gives me goose-bumps. If that doesn’t say fresh start and clean slate then I don’t know what does! The perfect opportunity to set some 2018 goals.
In my ‘Thing’s I’m Leaving In 2017‘ post, I go over the mentalities and hangups that aren’t coming with me into 2018. But I didn’t outline things that I am determined to happen.
In previous years I’ve never set myself goals I want to achieve by year end, I’m a very ‘let’s plod along and see what happens’ kinda gal. And as a result I don’t push myself to be better, and when I do achieve things there isn’t that sense of real accomplishment or pride. It’s just a happy thing that’s happened.
So 2018 is going to be the year I switch off that lazy mentality and try and improve myself for the better.
It’s no secret that my boyf and I have been saving for a mortgage for the longest time – not that I moan about it or anything. And so 2018 is the year I want it all to come into place and for us to make the leap and actually have our own little home. It’s scary, a huge commitment and the most grown up step I would have made to date. But I cannot fricken wait.
I’ve been having lessons for what seems an eternity. When I think of all the things I could afford if I didn’t have to fork out £23 a week, I could genuinely weep. It’s such a valuable and necessary skill in today’s world. And I have gone beyond being fashionably late to this party.
These are going to be totally unrealistic, however shoot for the moon and even if you miss you’ll end up amongst the stars and all that. So on my blog I would like to get 2,000 followers, Twitter up to 5,000 followers and Instagram up to 3,000 (mega lolz). A girl’s gotta dream eh!
Whether it’s my family, my boyf or my friends, I feel like I don’t spend tonnes of quality time with them. And it’s the age old thing, you’re on your phone or you watch telly rather than having a proper chin wag or actively doing something. So I want to spend more quality time with the special people in my life.
What are your goals for 2018?
