Hi beautiful followers!
Today I’m going to be recreating my everyday, go to makeup look. I do this most days if I’m going to work or just out and about as it doesn’t require too much concentration and it looks like you’ve put a hearty amount of effort in. The pros of the winged liner!
The best way to have flawless makeup is with a proper skincare regime but that’s for another blog! Watch this space!
I start off with my smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer focusing on the areas that get oily the quickest – so my T zone. And this reduces pores and provides a smooth canvas to work with.
Next up I use the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in the shade natural ivory using my Real Techniques Miracle Finish Sponge, I feel the sponge does a better job at applying my foundation more evenly and doesn’t look as cakey as using a foundation brush.
Next is my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shade 01. Light under my eyes to brighten and conceal any dark circles or blemishes. And I blend that all in using my ring finger so that no product is wasted and it is really patted on.
I then set my face and under eyes with the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, as I have extremely oily skin I need this to make the longevity of my makeup last.
And the final face step is contour, I use the NYX Highlight and Contour Pro Palette and gently mix together one of the warmer shades with an asher shade to get a natural looking contour. And I put that just above the hollows of my cheeks to give the illusion of higher cheek bones!
EYES, BROWS AND LIPS
Right, it’s winged liner time. DO NOT PANIC. All it takes is patience and practise! I use the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner which has a really thin nib and is almost like a felt tip which makes it so easy to use! I start off by going straight in to the wing, and I do this by following the natural shape of my water line up from the very outer corner of my eye. Once I have done that, making sure it is still a sharp point, I join it back to my lash line and create the line on top of the eyelid. If it all goes terribly wrong, no worries! Get a little bit of makeup remover onto a cotton bud and just tidy it up!
Then it’s mascara time, for this I use one of my all time favourites – the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I apply two coats of this if there’s time to give my lashes that extra bit of volume, and apply a light coat to my bottom lashes.
Next up, the brows. For this I use the Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil and I start of by shaping my brows and making the edges a bit sharper, and then filling in any sparse areas.
And the final step is using one of my favourite lipsticks, MAC Whirl.
