Birchbox May 2018 | The First Sign Of Summer

20th May 2018

Now. I could be wrong. However, this may or may not be my last Birchbox delivery. My sissy bear got me a years subscription for my birthday last June, so there’s every chance this could be my Birchbox finale.

*insert solemn violin music*

What will I do with myself without my guaranteed delivery? I don’t think I want to live in a world where the only mail I receive is bank statements and the doctors informing me it’s time to start my smear test adventures. Yay.

Native Unearthed, Activated Charcoal Natural Deodorant Balm

This is now the second one of these I’ve received. And unfortunately my opinion hasn’t changed. I’m still not into deo in paste form. I understand that it’ll be 5,842 times better for the environment, however it does nothing for my perspiration requirements and my general feeling of cleanliness.

So if anyone is in the market for a paste deodorant, hit me up. I’ve got one you are welcome to.

Greenfrog Botanic, Geranium & Peppermint Botanical Body Wash

This lil baby sounds like an utter dream in the summer months. Peppermint in shower gels is potentially the most refreshing thing, and when you have a sunburn, it feels like it brings out some of the heat. Which as a pasty representative, I am all for.

Regardless of it smelling bloomin’ dreamy, it’s completely vegan and free from every kind of nasty chemical out there. Perfect for any babes who are suffering from eczema and psoriasis, as it maintains your natural pH balance.

Doucce, Luscious Lip Stain in Steaming Red

This is again, ideal for summer. No constant touchups, just subtle and constant lip colour. Perfect for those days out exploring when you’re not focusing on your makeup. Steaming Red is the textbook ‘your lips but better’ shade, and when it says lip stain, it means it. I accidentally got some on my hand and I feel like it’s here to stay.

NUXE, Aquabella Micro-Exfoliating Purifying Gel

Want a cleanser that is gentle enough to strip away sun-cream and sweat without taking your skin’s natural moister with it? Look no further. This little baby is coming in my summer holiday essentials later on in the year. As that greasy, yet tight feeling your skin gets in the sun makes me wince.

As well as hyaluronic acid to keep the breakouts at bay, and evens out your skin tone. The perfect companion for that ‘glowing from within’ look we all want to compliment our tans.

Eyeko, Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

I have heard nothing but songs of praise for this liquid liner. And as a bit of a winged liner fanatic, I’m bloody excited to see how she compares to my ride or die Stila ‘Stay All Day’ Liquid Eyeliner.

The formulation seems lovely, and the colour is completely jet black. Nothing makes me more furious than when I’m trying to wing out my liner and the colour just stops. We’ll see how she gets on.

And just like that, my year of Birchbox is over, now comes the important question. Do I renew my Birchbox for another year, or, do I subscribe to another beauty box? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as there’s far too much choice out there for someone as indecisive as myself.
