Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighters Review

10th June 2017

Hola angels! Is it just me or has the brand Makeup Revolution just all of a sudden upped their game? I knew that they always had quite nice eyeshadows but didn’t give it too much thought. Then all of a sudden, all of these rose gold beauties appeared on the selves. I think I was blinded by the light of the packaging and the actual product itself … as I ended up buying all 3 of their new highlighters. Do I need anymore highlighters? No. Do I regret it? HELL NO. So let’s get into the Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighters review:

Initial Thoughts

The packing is giving me life, I’m so basic when it comes to anything rose gold or minimalist … so both together I just can’t handle it. The pan is absolutely gigantic, you get 14g worth of highlighter for £5 a pop, I’m super impressed. The 3 colours are very different, however I think I’m going to be obsessing over the champagne shade – Golden Kiss, as this type of colour gives such a radiant glow. However, I am intimidated by the peachy/pinky shade – Peach Kiss, as it just looks so dark and I am so incredibly pale. And as for the classic white shade – Ice Kiss, I’m expecting to be solid ‘meh’.

Pigmentation

Sweet. Mother. Of. God. These highlighters are so cheap, yet the pigmentation is out of this world. If you’re a subtle highlighter fan I don’t think these are for you, as I think I’ve actually blinded myself. Ice Kiss has literally blown me away, as it’s white it just blends into your natural skin colour and is like a moon beam on top of your cheek bones. The colour is so intense from the get go I could literally cry with joy. She’s my favourite for sure. Golden Kiss was really lovely and beautifully pigmented, yet it didn’t have the same intensity as Ice Kiss did. When I’ve got a bit of a tan and want that healthy looking glow, this will be my go to. And finally Peach Kiss, I was pleasantly surprised as when it went on it just blended out and left a rosy sheen. I imagine this would make an absolutely AMAZING blush topper, for that little extra pop of colour.

Longevity

When I swatched them, they seemed quite powdery but once they’re on the skin they just seem to melt in – and if you go in with a setting spray … Lord give me strength. I can put this on in the morning, have a whole day of running around, a gym session and it’ll still be there by the time I’m home. I don’t understand how this can be so cheap, and so amazing.

Overall

I love them. Ice Kiss was by far my favourite as the intensity of the highlight was blinding. However, they’re all beautiful shades and such amazing quality for the price of them. I want Makeup Revolution to bring out more shades and I will be sprinting to my local Superdrug to see what other goodies there are.
