Makeup Revolution Best Buys | What’s Worth The Hype?

6th March 2018

If there was a word to describe my feelings towards Makeup Revolution it was be ‘thirsty’. I cannot get e-bloody-nough and I ain’t afraid to show it.

With every new launch (and even when there’s not) I merrily skip to my local Superdrug on my lunch break and just bask in all its glory. However, as I cover makeup and beauty on my blog, it’s my duty to trial and test everything that could be a big deal, right? Right.

Through the highs and lows, and a whole box under my bed of half used products I have found my top 4 products. The ones that should be in everyone’s lives, and the ones who have graduated to my fulltime makeup bag. That my friend is how you measure true love.

Skin Kiss Highlighters

The one who started it all. I’ve ranted and raved about this baby since it came out last summer, and is still the only makeup range to this day that I own every colour in circulation.

As a woman of no colour, the lightest shade (A.K.A. white) is my holy grail. The shade ‘Ice Kiss’ is just packed with shimmer and gives your skin that ‘I have flawless and dewy skin’ vibe that we all aspire to have.

A little really does go a long way, I use it almost everyday and I’m still to hit pan. And yes, I’m aware I’ve likely just jinxed myself.

TOP TIP: Spritz your setting spray and whilst it’s still wet put on your highlighter to pack a serious punch.

Conceal & Define Concealer

I’ve written a dedicated post all about this liquid magic. Essentially it’s the cheapest and one of the best full coverage concealers on the market. It comes in a huge assortment of shades, it isn’t cakey but it will hide whatever you need it to hide with minimal effort.

It’s £4 and is the high street dupe for Tarte’s Shape Tape. Need I go on?

Soph Eyeshadow Palette

Ah the ‘Soph’ palette. It really is a makeup addicts dream. With the likes of Nikkie Tutorials even praising the palette, you know it’s going to be an absolute dream.

With 24 unique and highly pigmented shades, you can create almost any look, for any occasion and in any season. It really is the definition of versatile.

Again, this baby has made its way into my fulltime makeup bag and really is the only palette I would need/want to save in a fire.

Plus the packaging is super cute, so there’s that.

Liquid Highlighter

Remember everything I said about the Ice Kiss highlighter? Well imagine that, on steroids.

It is pure light in a bottle. It is so reflective, so pigmented, so blendable. And there has never been a highlighter that made it more obvious you’re wearing highlighter and I bloomin’ love it.

If you’re looking for that ‘I spent a long time on my makeup and you should notice’ then this is the baby for you. I’ve even had boys comment when I’ve worn it. Yes. Males. I know, a modern day miracle.

I’ve been using and loving ‘Starlight’ as obviously it’s one of the palest shades, but if you’re into the pearlescent vibe this is the one for you. And really does remind me of a £5 alternative to Benefit’s High Beam.

If you take nothing else away from the entirety of this post, remember this. Makeup Revolution probably does a duplicate for almost every makeup product for under £10. And this is why I am so fiercely loyal.

My favourite from Tam Beauty has to be the Unicorn Heart Highlighter. It shines so bright when you’ve spritzed a bit of setting spray. And it’s packaging is amazing.
I’ve got the dragon and mermaid heart too, but not used them yet. Just like them in their little set.
    Sally, “Let’s Make Up”.
