5 Things People Do I Don’t Understand

26th June 2017

‘Ello treacles! Now I’m probably making myself sound like a true Brit with our stereotypical whining … however … there are some things that I just cannot get my semi-educated mind around. The 5 things people do I don’t understand:

1. Going to the loo at the last minute.

When you’re going out somewhere, and you’ve all had the same amount of time to prepare, you’ve all been aware for exactly the same amount of time when you’re leaving. Why do you then wait until everyone’s putting their coats on to go to the loo? WHAT’S HAPPENING?! Why didn’t you go before in preparation so you could leave at the predetermined time? WHY?!

2. Public spitting.

Never in my life have I ever had the need nor desire to randomly spit on the street. If something has flown into your mouth then fair enough. However, chances are that’s not the case. How much extra saliva do you have, that you need to expel it on the street?

3. Sitting on the empty chairs on your table.

Prime example. I was sat in Starbucks a little while ago, minding my own business enjoying my chocolate frap when this woman came up to me and asked if the chair opposite me was being used. I was alone and assumed she wanted to drag it to where she was sitting. BUT NO. She plopped herself down opposite me and started buttering her fruit loaf. Are you lost? What’s happening? After 5 minutes of awkwardly looking at my phone and our knees touching we were so close I had to evacuate. You win Starbucks lady, you win.

4. Stealing from your plate without a word.

When you’re eating your meal and then someone else’s fork comes onto you plate … EXCUSE ME. I don’t know about you, but I’m very primal when it comes to food, I’m not that into sharing, and I’m certainly not into food theft. If you’ve asked and I’ve said yes we won’t have a problem. But if I find your hand on my plate be prepared to lose it.

5. Taking your t-shirt off at the first sign of sunshine.

LORD GIVE ME STRENGTH. I’m not sure if this is just a problem where I’m from but the second a trace of sunshine appears, it becomes apparently acceptable to remove your t-shirt and let the rest of us be blinded by your pale pale skin. It could be -4 degrees but if the suns out, so are those guns. And the saddest part, it’s normally the people that I really wish would keep their clothes on that feel the need to get it all out in everyone’s faces. Please refrain.

Even writing them down I don’t understand how these things happen. As always thank you so much for reading, be sure to follow me for future posts and head over to my Instagram for daily updates! Until next time babies xx

Those who do No. 3 clearly have no idea what privacy and personal space is. It always happen to me too, so now whenever people comes up to me at a cafe, I just tell them I’m waiting for someone haha.

  14. Haha I am in Seattle and people totally strip down way too easy at the first sight of sunlight. And a lot of Seattleites wear flip flops in the rain with their jeans. Now that is something I totally do not understand!!

Bahahahaa. PREACH IT!! My word, I definitely feel you on number 3…I was out having dinner with a friend a few months ago when out of nowhere, a couple sits down next to us at our table. They never said a word to us, they simply continued their conversation. 😶 Long story short, it took them ordering their drinks and food (SIGH😒) before they asked if we minded their presence. Upon receiving our answer, they miraculously found an empty table pretty sharpish. The only reason they were seated with us for so long is because we were absolutely stunned at the gall of these people. 😤 The world’s going mad!

  16. hahahah so funny! We all have different pet peeves, don’t we! I’ll tell you why I go to the loo last minute. I’m always a bit stressed before I go out. Usually, I’ve already gone to the loo, but before I go out, I just feel the need to go one more time. You just never know… I don’t like anyone steeling my food either. But I have to say, it’s quite funny taking something from my BF’s plate when he’s not looking… But most of the time, I do ask him, and only when I know there’s still enough food :D. Pushy people can really push my buttons… xoxo Sarah

I’m with you on all of this!!! Although I am guilty of waiting to go to the bathroom. It’s because it’s so much work and I also hate using public bathrooms, so I wait until I get home or go to one of my trusted locations where I’m always guaranteed a clean bathroom.
